Taking the time to RESEARCH will help you identify opportunities that you may not be aware of and may change your idea and shape it in a new more profitable direction.

Let's start the process by taking the IDEA you created in step one and research the three different topics product, customer and competition in the context of your idea.

Product:

• What is my product or concept? Become familiar with it.
• What is the supply chain for my product?
• Is the product available? Is it easily accessible? Is there a niche?

Customer:

• Find your customers by reading and clicking on competitors ads.
• Read and comment on blogs on the web related to your product. Get to know your customer.
• Discuss your research with your friends and associates. Use their feedback to refine your product.

Competition:

• Who is the competition?
• How does the competition attract customers?
• What makes the competition viable and successful?
